I'm going to try the fishless cycle with ammonia. I want to make sure i have the right ammonia though. I have a bottle of "Clear Ammonia" on the back of the bottle the ingrediants listed are: Ammonium Hydroxide and Surfactant. Is the correct stuff for cycling? Also how much to add to a 20 galllon?

You don't want any dyes r surfactants in your ammonia at all... So I would say you need a different kind :/ a lot of members here have had success with the ace brand janitorial strength ammonia.

I found some stuff on amazon: Dr. Tims Aquatics ammonium chloride for aquariums. It claims 2 drops per gallon gives you 2ppm. The same company also has "the one and only" live nitrifying bacteria for cycling. Has anyone tried either of these?
