Basic cycling..

Okay I'm getting a 10 gallon tank in the next few days and I am going on vacation for a week so I could let it cycle and run then. I have tap safe and also some tank start up thing. I just need to know what to do to cycle tbh

Put in substrate and the kickstarter and tap safe, I'd put in some live plants and fish food to make the cycle really go. It shouldnt take too long.

Okay thanks! I thought the food though is bad for them and is where the ammonia comes from?

You need to have ammonia for the cycle to start. The bacteria need something to eat!

That's what the fish food is for, when it decomposes it will provide ammonia.
