Beginner needs help!

I just got a 44 gallon tank in my office and now the whole place smells like crap and the water is pretty dirty...but everything seems to be working fine! Anyone know what's up with this thing?

Hmmm, what do you have in your tank in the way of fish, substrate and such? A brand new tank should never smell like "crap". In fact, it should have no odor what so ever.

it's not a brand new tank but it was cleaned out before it was moved here.

Any description you can give us to go along with it would be great, as Brian mentioned, and possibly more helpful than a pic. Inhabitants, filter, substrate, temp, feeding schedule, and ammonia, nitrite and nitrate levels if you have test kits.
