Buying fish

Hi, I'm new here and I have a question:

Our pet stores here aren't very good and their fish tanks worry me. I'm not going to buy fish from a tank where I see dead fish floating. Can anyone recommend a store online or a breeder where the fish are healthy and shipping isn't outrageous? I appreciate any help at all. Thanks!

You can buy fish from other members here if you are more comfortable with that instead of your local store.

Thank you! I haven't gone through the whole site yet. Is there a certain place I need to go?

There's a classified section you can post what you want or look to see what people have.

There are several reputable online fish vendors. A lot of people report good experiences with The Wet Spot of Portland, Ore.

I agree with Barliman. Wet Spot of Portland, OR, is a great place to buy fish online. I've had about 20 orders from them and I'm very happy with their service and selection. Yes, shipping is pricey, but it's worth it.
