We were thinking of getting a small school of corydora for our 55gallon. Without realizing we could have gravel or sand, we just assumed aquariums have aquarium gravel and bought a bunch of it. It's the small smooth colored kind.

Question is - are we fine to have 6 or 7 corydora with the small aquarium gravel or will that hurt them? Thanks!

Corys losing their barbels due to abrasion on gravel is largely considered a myth now and poor water conditions is considered the cause. I would still avoid sharp edged gravel though to err on the safe side. I have corys and gravel with no problems.
