So after a little over 2 weeks of fishless cycling my planted aquarium, I came home this morning and it was cycled.

Ammonia 0

Nitrite 0

Nitrate 40-80

I read that to be sure everything is ready for fish, dose to 2-4 ppm of Ammonia and after 24hrs, it should level back out. So I dosed back up and now the wait game. If everything goes back to normal tomorrow, is a water change all I need to do then drop in new fish? Should I wait a specific amount of time after the water change to add fish? I jumped the gun and told my daughter that we could get her fish tomorrow afternoon...??.

First time doing this so I want to get it right the first time.

Thanks in advance,

Kevin
