Do Bigger tanks take longer to cycle compared to smaller tanks?



i'm currently cycling a 40 gallon.

Nope, you just need to dose the right amount of ammonia for whatever size tank you have. The nitrogen cycle isn't prejudice to the size of the tank.

In general no, but in very large tanks (at least 75 gallons) you can actually start with fish (very few and/or small) and because the tank is so large you never get detectable concentrations of ammonia or nitrite.
