Dwarf cichlids & Loaches

I am curious how compatible are loachs like yoyo with dwarf cichlids?

Just in prep phase. Looking for suggestions. South American likely.

Yoyo loaches can be active fish at times so most of the more robust SA dwarves would be OK.

Something like Mikrogeophagus species(Bolivian Ram, Blue/Gold ram) would probably be fine. Any of the Acara-like species would be fine although many of them get bigger, in 4-6" range.

Apistogramma species will be hit or miss. Some will get stressed out by the activity and others will just ignore them. If the apistos spawn it will likely be stressful for the female who will guard her eggs to death.

Other than that, it depends on the species. M. altispinosus(the Bolivian ram) would be a great, easy choice.
