Excessive speeding on the cycle?

I have a 5.5 gallon that I set up and added ammonia to 4ppm on 4/28. I added a few decorations and some driftwood from an already established tank. Every other day i would take the filter from said tank and swish it around and squeeze out some water until my 5.5 was cloudy. The filter cleaned it up in the course of 12 hrs or so. Today, 5/4, I tested and ammo was at .5ppm. NitrItes and trates are off the charts. Gonna do a big pwc to get em readable again.

Am I really nearly finished with the cycle only 6 days in?

Small tanks cycle faster, plus the decco, DW and seeded filter help a lot IMO. You should be close.
