I am currently in the process of curing ich out of my tank of 20 gallons that had 2 goldfish and a rubber lip. I did attempt to save the fish but in left with only one goldfish and it’s looking bleak. I did take out the filter cartridge when I began medicating the tank and fish for ich. Once I have successfully cured the ich from my tank am I able to reuse this catridge? It’s a carbon filter.

I read that it's better to not use them again. From my understanding the ich parasite is so small many can live in a single drop of water. I always run my nets and stuff thru the dishwasher, lol. Bleach will kill it too. But also fish, so it can't go in the tank. And Temps high enough to completely eradicate the ich is also to high for most fish. I'd err on the side of caution and say anything that could have been contaminated with ich should be cleaned and sterilized
