36BF- ( New Day 3 ) ph: 7.4 am: 2ppm NI:0 NA:0

Question: Im using shrimp as the ammonia. How long until the AM hits 4ppm?

I'm sure it varies between tanks/shrimp. I'd say a few days. Your best bet is to use pure ammonia.

You can't control how much ammonia is let into the water by the shrimp. Your best bet would be to buy some pure ammonia from a hardware store because then you control the amount of ammonia and your cycle goes smoother/faster.
