Could fishless cycling with clear ammonia lower the PH of a tank ??

I used to have a PH around 7.2 and since I started fishless cycling (adding ammonia) the PH went down to 6.0...

Just out of curiosity since I will do a major water change one the cycle is done before adding fishes so that the PH will be around 7.2 again.

I believe so. What are your water parameters? What is the pH of your tap water? To do that test properly, let a cup of tap water sit out over night and allow the gases to equilibrate.
