I currently have a 45g tank with a MarineLand Penguin 350 filter. Im thinking of adding a small foam bio filter to the tank as well (one made for a 10-15g tank).

Im thinking that extra filtration is always good, but the primary reason is so that I'll have a movable bio-media filter available for my hospital/quarentine tank.

My questions are: Will just a bio-filter be sufficient for a hospital tank? And, how reliable/efficiently to these work.

My other thought was to purchase a small canister tank, but this would be much more expensive and Im unsure how much current, if any, they produce. The smallest canister filter Im finding is for a 65G tank and Im afraid it might have a current that would be overwhelming in a 5-10G hospital tank.

Any advice or other ideas are welcome
Thanks in advance
