Freshwater predator fish for 30 gal. tank?

Trying to get some good ideas on how to stock a 30 gal. predator tank. Species only is fine with me. Something that will eat snails and fry, maybe small crays or shrimp also. Any ideas?

Peppermint Crocodile Fish are like super-predatory gouramis. They only grow to 5".
