I have 5 male guppies in a 20 gallon tank. Why are they all staying at the surface in one corner and not exploring the environment at all?

Sometimes they'll do that when you first introduce them. It took mine a few days to start exploring all levels of the tank.

are they eating?
if yes its a good sign they are settling in.

I find feeding helps the fish relax and adjust to their new environment better. Put the food on the other side of the tank, so they are forced to explore it.

Yep, they seem to be eating fine. Good call feeding on the other side...I'll do that this evening. Thank you :)
