High Nitrite & Ammonia, New tank

I bought a 10 gallon fish tank 3 weeks ago, After letting the tank run for about 3 weeks, I went out and bought 2 Cory catfish, 5 neon tetras, and 3 other fish. The temperature in my tank is 77 degrees. Today i bought test strips to test the chemical levels in my tank. Ammonia= .5 Nitrate= 10 Nitrite= 1.0 Ph= 7.4 hardness= 100 Alkalinity= 80 Chlorine= 0...........I think the levels of Nitrite and Ammonia are a little high....Is this bad for the fish? What should I do?

Yes it is bad for the fish. Your tank is cycling and you need to do a water change to reduce it.
