Holy Ammonia OD, Batman!

I got my lovely pure ammonia to begin the cycling of my tank. I put in "an appropriate amount." HA! Right! I checked my ammonia levels and they were off the chart! Way, way more than 8ppm even.

So I did a 50% water change, waited an hour and test again. Still off the charts! OMG. So, I did another 50% water change and seem to be at 7ppm now.

I'm going to let it sit for a few more hours and test again. If I'm still at a 7 I'll do another 50% water change and hope for the best.

Thank goodness there is nothing in my tank except substrate and a castle.

LOL, it doesn't take a lot.
It took 1/2 teaspoon to get my 75 gallon to 3ppm.

Well, 3 50% partial water changes and I'm now at 4ppm. Yay!

Not too much amonia, if it is too high it can stall the cycle.
