How high can ammonia go without killing BB?

I'm leaving town for 2 weeks. I have an ISO/QT tank that I dose with ammonia to keep it going. I was going to put the ammonia at 4ppm before I leave. Wanted to check if it was too high or if I should/could go higher

What sized tank? Or can you put the filter media into your larger tank while your gone?

4 ppm should be okay, but if it can handle the 4 ppm (as in it converts it in 24 hrs)the bacteria will run out of food fast.
