I was going to get fish last week, but the girl working at Petsmart (the only fish store with in about 100 miles...) informed me that they were having some "issues with ich in their system." She said that there were treating the tanks, but I could buy fish if I wanted to. Well, I didn't. My question is this: How long should I wait before getting fish from Petsmart?

well you should qt all fish anyways. it takes a couple weeks to treat but new stock always coming in who knows if the new fish will be infected or not.

I concur with this, if you know what you want, just order online. Most species of fish actually ship quite well, and it is quite likely you'll be getting fish far healthier than the pet store ones.
