Instant Cycle?

I put a lot of cycled filter media, gravel, and fake plants in my 5.5 gallon. I've had it running for about a day with fish. I still have 0 ammonia and 0 nitrite. Has the cycle just not started yet or did it really instant cycle?

Any NitrAtes? Make sure you test your water source too for comparison (my tap has a small amount of NitrAtes).

haven't tested for nitrates..and i used my other aquarium's water

Could be. Test nitrates and we'll see. If you have enough items from a cycled tank, it might be cycled. Do you only have cycled filter media in your filter or only a small piece for seeding bacteria?

An instant cycle is entirely possible. Enough BB and only a few fish and the cycle could be nonexistent.
