Is disaster lurking near??

I have a planted 20 gal aquarium with two rock "caves" , 2 Kribs, 2 corys, and 5 neon tetras, They seem to be getting along well enugh no nipped fins or cowering in a corner or anything like that. Anyways as an relativley new aquarist I went and got all these fish without researching...and after reading some I kinda see that i kinda made a serious blunder...

Is this a certain path for disaster or is there some chance that things will continue all fine and dndy as they are now????

I don't believe there is much chance things will continue to go smoothly. I believe you have a recipe for disaster. I would return the kribs to the lfs and get different fish.

I was suspecting that, But do you think if i just return all the other fish and keep the kribs they would be allright....Id rather have them in the tank if i know they would be ok. In any case ill keep researching and see what fish would be better off in my tank..

Have you cycled your tank? I was wondering if you had because if you haven't and can take all of your fish back right now, That is what I would do and then do a fishless cycle, much easier on you and kinder to your fish.

I'd set up another tank Any excuse to have more tanks. Kribs are cool and fun to breed. A school of Tetra is great to watch and do very well in a planted tank.

I think the tank should be cycled by now Ive had it running for about 8 weeks now and had been slowly adding fish during that time. When I started it I placed all the hardware and gravel first then the next day i added the plants and on the forth day I added 3 neon tetras, and then gradualy added the other ones. I replace about 10 galons of water every week. And so far all seems well The only casualty so far has been one neon, which was apparently dead on arrival as I noticed this soon after getting home and placing them in my aquarium bucket for aclimatization..

As far as getting another tank I dont think I could for the time being..Id love to though but this time a much larger one. like a 55 gal breeder or even something in the hundreds of galons range....

Actually, it may actually work quite well except the corys may take a beating, in time. In general. Dwarf cichlids do better with dither fish, and the neons are that, although a slightly larger/tougher tetra may have been better.

So far everyone in the tank is getting along just fine, I still have all the neons. And uppon closer inspection I see that none of them have nipped fins, The corrys still seem to go wherever they please, even into the caves that the kribs have claimed as their own. The kribbs are Showing their colors and Ive seen them courting although by the looks of it I think it will be a couple of months before they are actualy mature enough to spawn. In the meantime ill keep an eye out for agressive behavior or signs of it.

By the way guys thanks for your advice!
