Should be exciting! I love the panda corys, so much energy.

Looking good!
It's so worth spending time and effort acclimatizing them with care. The time you spend doing that will make all the difference :)

still in the drip process

I tested the water in the tank:
ph: 7.4
ammonia: 0
nitrite: 0
nitrate: 10

and water in the bag:
pH: 7.4
ammonia:1
nitrite: 0
nitrate: 80+

The rainbow bag floated, to temperature assimilate, for ~20 mins. Panda's are still floating...

i'm looking at them in the bag... is this a disease or normal for these fish?

Probably not. You will see that once you get them in the tank and they settle in, their body tint will either lighten or darken a little as they try to match your substrate color better. It's a natural defense they use in nature. Sometimes not every Cory will be perfectly the same. Deferent batch of fry maybe. Usually takes a week for them to settle in. Enjoy! OS.

pictures of the boesemani rainbows

here are some shots of the fish. Believe it or not my 6 year old took most of these!

6 Panda Corys are now in the tank

Here are the 6 Panda Corys. Their bag pH was a bit lower than mine so I took extra time with the drip process. I had a hard time netting them so I think I freaked them out a bit...

Believe it or not picture #2 (the close up) has 4 corys in it... bet you can't find #4 ;-)

Picture #3 has 3. Try to find #3 ;-)

I love them! I love Boesemani's and cories! Good picks :D

Now that they've settled in I can clearly tell I have 2 males and 3 females boesemanis. I had to research a bit because I thought, perhaps, they didn't send me boesemanis ;-) [duh <-- new user]
As for the Panda's - no clue...

Oh that's a good ratio. I seem to have 4 males and 2 females and the poor ladies seem a bit beleaguered =/ The men chase them around and flare for them all day long.
Your ladies will be less stressed, that's a good thing.

i just lost one of the Panda Corys.... testing water.... everyone else appears fine and schooling (the now 5 Pandas)

I'm so sorry :( :( :(

Any visible signs of physical distress on the dead cory?

last living image was taken 651pm.
I could see it was having trouble and when it would try to swim back down would kinda of go sideways.
found it dead ~1hr later.

i'll post last living image...

I also notice that the other 5 are schooling together but this was was by itself.

I'm getting concerned.

I found one of the female boesemani rainbows just chillin' near the surface. I could easily net her and she didn't quickly swim away. I'm watching her as i type this and it looks like she's having trouble swimming a bit. like she's going with the currents and does not keep a horizontal position. Everyone else seems fine...

my water is fine:
temp:80
pH: 7.4
ammonia 0
nitrite 0
nitrate 20-40

panda about 1hr before i found it belly up on the bottom..

ok well so far so good (1105pm).

I do notice that the bottom lip on 2 of the rainbows (m & f) has a white spot. I've been googling and it seems 'normal' due to the bumping and such. 50% wc is recommended. my stats are remain:
temp 80
pH: 7.4
Ammonia 0
nitrite 0
nitrate 20-40

soooo... we'll see.
