I currently have just two bloodfin tetras. TetraMin flakes will float on the surface of the water until the fish get to them, and then debris will start to sink. Since I only have the two fish, they don't always get all the crumbs before they hit the gravel. It might be easier to keep the tank clean if all food behaved like dried shrimp: The fish can pull the shrimp down, but once they let them go, the shrimp rise back up to the surface. After a few minutes, I can easily remove any excess shrimp with a net (and better gauge how much I should be giving them).

Are there any other foods that are so buoyant?
