I found this chart online and it is much better IMO than the one sent with the kit.

There are other things on this page (they are writing about a color meter) but scroll down about 1/3 of the way and you'll see Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate test tubes.
I found the .25 Nitrite most helpful and way different than the card.
I am cycling my tank and had Blue on the Nitrite test (not violet or purple) and considered it at Zero. It did not match the sky blue of the card (for Zero) but it WAS blue. Not the case.
The readings online verify what I suspected. I have some nitrites. The .25 matches what I show and does not remotely resemble the .25 (violate) on the API card.
