Hope you all can help me with my stocking plan for my 45 gal.

I have some real plants and some plastic. the pH stays around 8.3.
Here are the fish I'm hoping to end up with:

4 Corys (not sure which ones)
3 dwarf electric blue gouramis
1 bristle nose pleco
8 glowlight tetras or some other schooling fish

I was hoping to also have one fish that would get about 6" as well, but don't know if there is one that wouldn't eat everybody else. Suggestions welcomed. I also thought of adding a single gold gourami, but everything I read says they are too aggressive. B

I'm hoping to have inhabitants in all levels of the tank. I would also like another schooling fish, but don't want fin nippers or soft water fish.

Thanks for any suggestions!

I would bump it up to six cories.

Trios of DGs can work IME, but be careful. It could work out better if you possibly just got two or one.

IME gold gouramis are not aggressive either, but that's entirely dependent on the gourami. They are very individualized.

Ok great! Thanks for that. So maybe this:

1 dwarf gourami
1 gold gourami
6 cories
1 pleco
8 glowlight tetras or some other schooling fish

I would still like one more colorful addition on the larger side. Suggestions?

Does anyone know how to tell a more peaceful fish in a group at the LFS, like when looking at a tank of gouramis?
