Newbie here. I’ve been running a 10G freshwater tank for a few years are recently bought a used 75 G with accessories. I got it cleaned up with vinegar and boiled the used gravel and gradually filled the tank so I know there are no leaks. All was going well until I added the used decor (mix of plastic, driftwood, ceramic, perhaps 15-20 years old?). Now my water is murky and there’s an oily looking film on the surface. I assume this is related to the used aquarium decorations. I haven’t added chemicals, equipment, plants or fish yet. What should I do? Ditch the decorations, empty the tank and start all over or something less drastic?
