My husband and I have purchased a 46 gallon bow-front tank. So far all it has in it is lights and nothing else.
I was hoping someone would have some suggestions for the best equipment to buy as we start setting this sucker up as a tropical community tank. The largest tank I have is a 10 gallon and I'm sure life with a bigger tank is going to be different.
I'm not even sure how one changes the water in a tank this size! Suggestions for filters (
HOB or canister? I dunno!) would be helpful!
It'll be a planted tank and the only fish I'm absolutely dead-set on having are a pair of blue ram cichlids, because, well, pretty. So I'd be happy to take suggestions on suitable tank mates for them.
My plan is to plant it and let it cycle for a month or two, so I'm in no rush at the moment. Plant suggestions would be great, too.
Actually, any suggestions would be grand.
