I have done this on multiple occasions and they all did fine

have you contacted anyone yet on your ability to talk to fish?
pretty talented skill you have there
you did a fish in cycle, which is like me throwing someone into a burning fire.
example above. Hardcore but true.
Did you know your parameters at the time?

I don't talk I watch the water levels and don't let them get bad

"them get bad"
what does that mean can you describe that a bit more..?
.01 pmm for nitrite and ammonia is bad, and from what you said earlier that's what you had and did.
So that kind of just went down the drain

Yeah ammonia is harsh. Just sniff a bottle of janitorial cleaning ammonia and see how your nose feels then put a drop in your eye. Ouch. Do a fish-less cycle with some store bought ammonia. You will save you, your wife, and fish a lot of grief.

It's up to you OP. My tanks were cycled in a week and I have not lost a fish yet but ultimately it is your
Decision and you do what YOU think is right, out experiences are ours as are our opinions.

Yet you still haven't answered my question, and again. This is false, I recommend you do some research on what it is you are using that "cycles your tank in a week" :ermm:
"haven't lost a fish yet" though it hurts them and is uncomfortable and also could kill them :) (go back to my example)
