New Fish Tank Ideas

I am looking at starting up a little 10 gallon freshwater tank. I am new to the fish tank world and was looking for adive on what fish to put in, rocks vs sand, list of equipment I will need. Thank you in advance for the advice.

bud29 posted some great info in that link it should clear up a lot of questions for you.

Did you have any ideas on what you may like to stock. 10 gallons restricts you a bit on options but you still have some great ones. Guppies are a great beginner fish. Very hardy, colorful and you could do 5 in a 10 gallon happily.
