I used to be regular on here 7 years ago and fell out of the hobby so im back again trying to figure it all out once again.
I went with a different approach in my 65g planted tank and using organic potting soil with eco complete cap for the substrate, and i feel im running into issue during cycling that i feel i wouldn't of ran into if i used regular substrate gravel etc instead.
Does ammoniacal nitrogen in organic potting soil cause my pH to be up n down and also the ammonia levle to be constantly at 1-2ppm even after a 50%water change. I have added any ammonia to the tank but my parameters are showing ammonia-2ppm, No2 - 1ppm, NO3-5ppm. Granted i did add pre established mieda 3 days ago.
