I have read two articles about giving a betta a blanched pea. One says Never due to how they digest roughage and the other yes helps with cleaning them out so I also read earlier that a daphnia worm works. So what go believe?

Blanched then shelled peas are great for constipation. I mash mine up with fresh garlic. I've used daphnia for my community tank, but not my betta. Not sure if that's ok for them or not. Someone else could tell ya :)

Hi dkmuller:

I've fed blanched peas (the inside part) to bettas in the past when I suspected constipation, and it worked well. An occasional treat of frozen daphnia or adult brine shrimp will also help, since they too contain roughage.
