I may be getting a peacock eel soon. I've done a lot of research about them, but some things still aren't clear. Are they freshwater or saltwater, and how large a tank does one peacock eel need?

Peacock eels are spiny nose eels, not true eels like morays, and are strictly FW fish. They're a smaller species, 20-30 gallon tank with a sand substrate deep enough for them to burrow into would be large enough. Top has to be completely enclosed though, if there's any opening they can fit through they will escape the tank and become fish jerky.
