Last thursday i began the cycling in my new Fluval Spec v, it's a 5 gallon tank, tomorrow i think i will put the plant in the tank tomorrow, the problem is that i have a Ph of 7,8 to 8, so what do you think? The water is too alkaline for the plants?

Ps. Right now i have a african ciclid in the tank, it help to put some ammonia that needs the bacteria to grow.

The plants that i will put are:
Blixa japonica
Flame moss
Rotalia rotundifolia
Microsorium Pteropus windelov

The ph is a bit high for those plants but good for the cichlid so your gonna have to decide on keeping which one: the plants or cichlid. If you get rid of cichlid, lower the ph to around 6-7.
What type of cichlid is it? A cichlid in a 5g is too small anyway ( unless its a small dwarf ) so I'd go with getting rid of the cichlid and lowering the ph.
