So I am finishing cycling my 14 gallon tank. This is my first tank ever. My Betta has been in a ~1-2 gallon Tupperware container the past few weeks while he awaits his permanent home. Thus I have been doing an inadvertent QT on him before reading here the benefit of doing a QT. Yea me! Only problem I have is that I don't have a proper QT tank for Sammie's companions when I get them. I'm really tempted to say 'screw it' and turn my 14 into a QT tank. Alas, my life is still too transient to be setting up a larger tank :(

What is the best advice people have on how then to QT a school of fish? I'm going to get one school to keep Sammie company, but I don't think I can keep an entire school to be going into my 14 in a 1-2 gallon tub for 3 odd weeks.

Depending on the size of the fish a 5 gallon bucket could work well. A larger rubbermaid container (sweater box size or larger) for bigger fish.
