Hey everyone,
I have a 1.5-2 gal (not sure) tank that I had my betta in. Unfortunately he recently died from fun rot that I was unable to spot and treat in time to save him. Is there anything I should do with the tank to prevent this from happening when I get a new betta? Any special way to clean or treat for the bacteria?

Bacteria is complicated. You don't want to dose anything that could kill good bacteria. In a 1.5-2 gallon a would say keep up on doing a 30% water change at least once a week. Or 2 smaller ones 2x a week. Generally if water conditions are good most stuff like that won't even happen. If something like that does happen again, use some salt in the aquarium. I can't remember dosing unfortunately. Melafix is an option too that is gentle.
