Shrimp or algae eater?

Maybe you should try one of these. I usually just see them labeled as algae eater or Chinese algae eater

OP- really really research that fish before considering putting one in your tank.

The problem about Chinese algae eaters is that they get territorial and a bit aggressive when they grow older. And the older they get, the less algae they eat.

That's not good. I can't have hardly any aggression in my tank. My peacock gudgeon won't do good.

Yup. Mine actually defended its territory against large 4-5" adult crayfish.

Cae are only ok algae eaters for a little bit. Once older, they turn into mini monsters.

Go for ottos. No aggression at all. They'd be too small to fight against anyone .

Ok thanks! Ill do some research and get them at the lfs.

Maybe you could look into Panda Garra (much more colorful than the Otos) or Amano Shrimp.

Is the panda Garra shrimp or algae eater?

Panda Garra is a loach that eats algae. They need other food too though. I feed them
some catfish tablets and they eat algae off of my plant leaves and glass.

Yeah i guess you should only consider Chinese eater if you have cichlids or community fish that are a lot bigger.....i think this is about the best algae eater i could put in my tank....some people say plecos but they seem more like bottom feeders to much of the time
