Anyone has a restrictive back where you can't place a hangover filter that has modified a hood to hang a filter on the side? Or submerged or internal filters? I have an internal filter with a spray bar that both oxygenates and filters, but I also have a regular air pump with dual stones...I don't care for the submerged internal, but it quiets the tank submerged. Just wondering if anyone hacked their hoods for a side mount?

I've temporarily hung filters on the front and sides of tanks. I don't see an issue with permanent modifications, as long as your tank isn't too long. I have a few internal canister filters running. I love them. They clean well and using a sponge filter in conjunction adds to the biological filtration capacity, that the internals are sorely lacking

How big is your tank and what is the clearance from the tank to the wall?
