So so so noisy!!

I've had my aquarium running since last July and yesterday my filter broke! SO today I bought a new PF 2 interpret one, I've just set it up and it's so loud I can barely hear myself think!! It's fully submerged so I don't know what's up with it!
Please help before my ears start bleeding!!!

Ok I had the same problem i opened up the filter and got a cup full of water from tank and slowly pour it on the filter pad.

I've just pulled it apart, both filter sponges seem wet but I've poured tank water over them, would that do it?

There might be something trapped in there or the impellor may be gringing and needs lube. Or it could just be faulty and needs returning.
