I'm somewhat experienced in the fish-keeping world, but I've never had a tank larger than 2 ft. Either this Friday or the next I'll be collecting a 4x2x1.5 tank following an agreement to trade 3 smaller tanks for it.

I plan on having two filters and two heaters in it as I think my existing filters and heaters are too small for it.

Are there any particular precautions I should take with a new big tank?

You should definitely test it for leaks. Sit it on a level, sturdy surface, fill it with water from a hose, and let it sit for 24hrs.

There are a few good places online to check for tank supplies. I personally love Drs. Foster & Smith; have had great customer service from them.

Also, you have a 90-gallon tank (48"x24"x18" = 20736, then divide by 231 = 89.7). That should help when looking for equipment
