My tank is finally cycled. At the moment, I have 1 guppy and 1 platy and 4 anubia plants with gravel substrate. I have a 5 gallon tank I can use as a quarantine tank for new fish.
Some people say that guppys and platys can go together, and some do not. My husband and I bought 3 platys from Petco, but ended up returning 2 because they chased the smaller platy and guppy around too much. I do not want to repeat that experience. Also, is it true that platys like cooler temps than guppys? My tank varies around 78-79 degrees. Is that too warm for more platys?
For a 5 gallon tank-would 2 guppys fit for 2 weeks? I'm thinking as for platys, only 1 could fit.
How do harlequin rasboras do with guppys and platys? Any potential problems there?
My PH is 8.0 steady, so I'm guessing that is too hard for neon or cardinal tetras??
