I bought a 55 gallon marineland tank. This one.
It came with a Marineland Penquin 350 BioWheel filter.

The tank itself is currently going through the nitrogen cycle. Meanwhile, I have been researching what fish to add.

I want a peaceful community tank, thus I have selected the fish below. I am a newbie at aquariums, so I would love another opinion before buying fish to make sure I don't overstock my tank.

7 Kuhli Loaches
6 Glofish Danios
5 Glowfish Tetras
4-6 Platies (Females only to avoid breeding)
5 Amano shrimp

Would this be overstocking the tank? Any advise is appreciated.

If those are the fish you want then i think you will be well set. though personally i'm not a big fan of the glow variety.
I LOVE KUHLIS!!!!! props
you will need a sand or other soft substrate for them since they are soft bodied fish and be careful about some medications.
even though you are getting amano shrimp too I don't think you are not really going to have a real bottom dweller.(kuhlis love to hide plus they are nocturnal) i suggest cordoras. there are plenty of varieties.

I also suggest having a couple of mystery snails. they keep your glass clean plus they can clean other things.

i also suggest getting some decorations for your kuhlis to hide in.
Good luck!
