Thick Moss growing on Apple Snail

Have a snail that I like quite well (I like all of my aqua friends) and has has developed quite a coat of moss on his shell. I have a new snails and have had many in the past but have never seen this before. Can anyone tell me if this is harmful to his shell.

Hm, can you possibly post a picture? Is this a new tank? What size and what other fish? Is it cycled? Have you tested for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate lately?

I think you should be fine, mine gets it all the time, i used to brush it off with a tooth brush but now i just leave it, just remember to add the odd bit of veg so your snail is getting his calcium

Thanks for your reply. My tank is a 40 gal with Kuhli loaches, Rainbow fish, Glass Cats, snails - Apple, Nerite, and Rabbit , African Dwarf Frogs, Rubber Mouth Pleco, Julii Catfish, Otocinclus. IThe water chemistry is always pretty good and I do water changes every couple of weeks. The moss has been there for a couple of months I guess. I'm just hoping that the moss isn't damaging the shell in a way I couldn't see.

One if my snails grows BBA. Never really thought about it. He seems fine.
