twin ac 70's

I just add another ac70 to my 60 gallon community cichlid tank, i have the ammonia filter media in one and the carbon filter media in the other. Is this an acceptable combination.

Don't use the ammonia filter media unless you intend to buy it for the rest of your tank's life. IMO waste of money. You don't really need the carbon filter media too. I have 3 AC70, but I take out the carbon and want to add a second sponge to each of them.

Its been 2 days since i put that other ac70 with the ammonia filter media, can i swap it for another sponge with out harming it

Since you already have an established AC 70, then your tank should be fully cycled. 2 days of the ammonia media shouldn't do that much harm. Just take it out.
