I have a 50 gallon planted tank should I warm the water from the tap to the correct temperature or how should i do it. Also my PH is 8 is that ok or will a water change fix that.

I warm the water from the tap. I have a digital thermometer I use to do this. Not sure about your other question.
The only concern I would have with heated water is that in my experience hot water heaters, particularly older ones, can give you some pretty cloudy water to start with. The PH issue, as far as I can tell, will really depend on the specific fish and plants in the tank. If you want to bring it down a little closer to neutral, some driftwood or mopani may make a difference.
