I personally use Tetra Aquasafe, but a lot of people here use Prime.

Big als tells me to use acrylic water conditioner because it's for my mom and I don't want her to over douse with prime and api looks like it might be for get and not prime

It's really a personal preference. Some people need prime because they have ammonia in their water. Prime detoxifies the ammonia temporarily so the bacteria can process it with less impact on the fish. If you just need a product to remove the chlorine/chlorimines, pretty much any brand will do the job.
