So I have a 40 breeder that has been cycled with a juvenile largemouth bass, which I will be giving to a friend. The water flow is moderately fast, but can be made so the water is nearly stagnant if need be. It has no heater, so the fish would need to be tolerant of 65-78F degree water depending on the season. I'm just looking for suggestions on what to put in because I have no clue. Right now, there are 5 giant danios which I may or may not remove.

Go native, some Blue Fin Killies-get a big school, Golden Topwater Minnows and maybe a crayfish or two. You can also add least killies and even darters if you don't have crayfish. Johna's Aquarium should give you a good idea what is out there. That Majic Guy on Aquabid has great natives so I'd contact him and get some help and livestock.
