What substrate for guppy?

Hello, I will soon welcome 4 guppies in my aquarium. I wonder which substrate to choose. I plan to plant a few aquarium plants, but only those that are easy to grow. Which substrat should I buy? Thanks for your advices.

Bonjour, As-tu d'autres poissons dans ton aquarium ? Comme plante facile je te conseille l'anubias.

Depends what you like. Some people find it easier to plant in gravel while other like sand. I use pool filter sand in my tank, it works great so far.
Just make sure that whatever you get you rinse it off properly first.

That would work. The darker colour will make your guppies stand out more as well.

Functionally, there´s no specific gravel, sand or substrate that´s specifically suitable for guppies. They are all suitable for them.

So if guppies don't require a specific substrate, do you know of porous and not too light substrates? I wish I could plant the plants easily, because I am new to aquariums. thank you

I've used play sand for my plants. Pool filter sand is good also, very popular. You can also buy plant specific substrates, but I'm cheap so I don't. You can technically plant a lot of beginner plants in gravel if you prefer that look.

My current favorite is a brand of blasting sand I don't know if you can get up there-- black diamond blasting sand 20-40 size.
