What to put?

Hey guys, what can i put under my main stones,before placing them in the tank,so as to protect the bottom glass from scratching?I was told to put plastic,but i thought plastic is harmful longterm...Talking bout small piece, around 30x30cm.

Plastic is fine. Your filter housing will be made from plastic, any tubing etc. Take a look at all the equipment in your tank and look how much of it is plastic.

Eggcrate ceiling tiles are often used for the purpose you are looking for.
