Hey!

We have recently bought a new tank (we still have our old one of course) and we have decided to get 2 Black Angel fish to be the centre peice(s) of the tank. We also have 2 small catfish (small).

The new fish are currently settling into the new tank but we are wondering what else we should get.

The tank is has a red/black theme and we'd like to get something to contract the Angle fish. Currently on my mind would be to get some Ember Tetra but i'm seeing 50/50 advise with adding tetra to the tank.

Willing to take any suggestions!

how big is the new tank? has the tank been cycled? alot more info about this tank would be helpful.

Sorry for the delay, we've been to one of the biggest aquarium shops in the country (UK) and had a chat with the guys there. (Lincs Aquatics).

It's a 75L, fully cycled tank. We are fully aware this tank is too small but we have our signs set on a 300L tank within the next 6 months (we just need to move house first). The angles we have are still very small (1inch) and will be ready to move to the new tank when we have it. This tank will become our new hospital tank when we are finished.

Currently in the tank
1x Black Angle
1x Blue/Black Angle
1x Red Head Angle
1x Electric Golden Ram
2x Corey Catfish

From the above your probably wondering what happened to the second black angle that we had... It sadly died after a week in the tank. We noticed that the flow in the tank was a little too strong and the angle that died came with a rip in its back fin.

We adjusted the flow into the tank (without sacrificing filter flow) and all is now good.

EDIT - We started a fish tank diary for both of our tanks this weekend. It's not something we've done before but after reading around it looks like one of the best and easiest things to do!
