Birdsnest Dying?

Check out the base of my birdsnest coral. I just added it a week ago. I took this picture Sunday and little has changed since then.

The polyps on the rest of it are great. Is this bleaching at the base how they die or is it still healing from being fragged since it was just fragged a week ago?

Not sure yet. Keep an eye on it and it it progresses any further you will need to cut the dead part away from the living. Take care to take some of the living flesh with it.
